Ricardo Ramirez is a founding member De La Garza & Ramirez. He is admitted
to practice law in the state of Texas. Ramirez received his Doctor of
Jurisprudence from St. Mary’s University in 2011. His practice is
focused on non-immigrant visa work, deportation defense, and affirmative
immigration applications and appeals. Ramirez helps individuals and families
obtain and maintain legal immigration status in the United States. In
addition he advises many entertainers, athletes, and other professionals
on U.S. immigration options. Ramirez also works with foreign businesses
and organizations looking to establish a commercial footprint within the
United States. Committed to community service and enrichment, Ramirez
regularly handles cases on a pro bono basis. His pro bono works includes
representing detained individuals in immigration court hearings and assisting
underprivileged families with immigration petitions and applications.
Ramirez holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from St. Mary’s
University. He has worked in the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Chile
and the United Arab Emirates. He is fluent in English and Spanish. Ramirez
is a member of the American Bar Association and the American Immigration
Rafael De La Garza
Rafael de la Garza was born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley. Mr. de
la Garza grew up surrounded by a strong hard-working family who continuously
emphasized the importance of an education. Motivated by the opportunities
for advancement provided by an education, and the ambition to succeed,
Mr. de la Garza understood very early on that education was essential.
Mr. de la Garza attended Baylor University in Waco, Texas, and graduated
with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, in three years. Upon graduation,
Mr. de la Garza was admitted to University of Houston Law Center, where
he obtained his Doctor of Jurisprudence in only two and a half years.
During his time in law school, Mr. de la Garza worked at a prominent mass
tort law firm in addition to UH’s demanding immigration clinic.
Upon graduation from law school, Mr. de la Garza worked for a civil litigation
firm in South Texas. Mr. de la Garza is admitted to practice in all Texas
Courts and in the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Texas. Mr.
de la Garza’s practice now focuses on a wide range of areas, including
commercial litigation, personal injury, immigration, family law and state
and federal criminal defense. Mr. de la Garza is fluent in English and
Spanish. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the American Bar Association
and Hidalgo County Criminal Defense Association.
